With just one month until Shoptalk, we’ve published our final agenda and have an incredible lineup of 300+ speakers, including 130+ CEOs. Below we highlight 16 exciting early-stage companies whose CEOs will join us on stage to discuss how they’re challenging traditional players with innovative new business models and products.
The 16 startups below operate in a variety of categories, have secured varying levels of funding and hail from different countries, but they provide a good snapshot of the many ways in which commerce is being disrupted by early-stage companies.
- Allbirds. With approximately $10 million in funding, Allbirds makes environmentally friendly, superfine merino wool footwear, dubbed “The World's Most Comfortable Shoes” by Time in 2016.
- Away. Away is a new direct-to-consumer manufacturer and seller of premium luggage. Away recently expanded from an ecommerce-only offering and now operates a concept store in New York. Away has raised $11 million in funding.
- Boxed. With more than $130 million in funding, Boxed is a mobile commerce company focused on delivering the big box club experience on mobile devices.
- Capsule. Capsule is a digital-only pharmacy that offers delivery of prescription medications directly to your doorstep or office, aiming to eliminate problems such as inconsistent inventory and long wait times.
- Dia&Co. With $20 million in funding, Dia&Co sells clothing and accessories to women who wear sizes 14 and up via a subscription, try-on-at-home model.
- LE TOTE. LE TOTE is a fashion discovery platform that connects brands with consumers through a rental model. The company has raised $27.5 million in venture capital.
- Memebox. Memebox is a Seoul-based consumer ecommerce startup that sells Korean and international cosmetics brands at discounted prices. Memebox has raised $157 million in funding and has expanded into the US market.
- Mercari. With more than $116 million in funding, Mercari is the largest community-powered shopping app from Japan—the company recently moved into the US. It enables anyone to buy and sell anything, from anywhere, in seconds.
- MikMak. MikMak is an iOS app that lets users shop via short video infomercials called 'minimericals'--The Wall Street Journal called it “part QVC, part Snapchat”. The company has raised $3.2 million.
- OfferUp. With more than $220 million in funding and an image-friendly offering with high engagement levels, OfferUp is the largest mobile marketplace for local buyers and sellers in the US.
- Reformation. Reformation focuses on design, value and sustainability. The company designs limited-edition fashion collections and manufactures styles in its downtown LA factory. Reformation has raised $12 million in funding.
- The Bouqs. With more than $43 million in funding, The Bouqs Company delivers flowers direct from farms around the world to customers' doorstep for a low, flat fee.
- THINX. THINX is a high-tech underwear solution for women to wear during their periods, which was named on Time’s list of "25 Best New Inventions of 2015” as well as Fast Company’s “2017 World’s 50 Most Innovative Companies”.
- Vestiaire Collective. With $130 million in funding, Paris-based Vestiaire Collective is a global marketplace enabling people to buy and sell luxury, pre-owned fashion products.
- Walker & Company. With over $33 million in funding, Walker & Company Brands is a family of brands designing health and beauty solutions for people of color. The CEO was named a USA Today “Person of the Year” in 2014.
- Wish. With more than $1 billion in funding, Wish is a mobile commerce platform in North America and Europe with a mission to give everyone access to an affordable, convenient and effective shopping mall.
